What we do

Men's Consciousness-Raising Group

A safe space among men to slow down, listen and question the masculinity we were taught. A consciousness-raising path with a nonviolent, transfeminist approach.

Men's Consciousness-Raising Group

A safe space among men to reflect on masculinity, violence and patriarchal culture. We always start from ourselves: everyone shares their own experience, and the others listen without judging.

We build trust, learn to recognise emotions and communicate with empathy. We question what traditional masculinity asks of us: always being rational, competing, never showing vulnerability.

  • Relationships and living together
  • Being a father
  • Work
  • Distress and wellbeing
  • Bodies and sexuality
  • Masculinity and homosexuality
  • Gender identity
  • Male violence against women
  • Patriarchy

We work with role playing and peer education, with a nonviolent, transfeminist approach. We draw on Italian men's groups such as GNAM in Milan and Maschile Plurale.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the Men's Consciousness-Raising Group for?

For men who want to reflect on masculinity, relationships and violence, starting from their own experience. To join, write to us on WhatsApp, by email at info@casapride.it or on Instagram: we will tell you when and where we meet.

What is a consciousness-raising group?

A group where everyone talks about themselves and their own experience, and listens to others without judging or analysing them. It comes from the feminist practice of starting from oneself: the personal is political.

Who can take part in the activities?

Many activities are open to everyone, with no membership needed. The Psychological Support Desk, for example, is for LGBTQIA+ people, parents and caregivers, and you don't have to be a member. The Queer Group is meant for LGBTQIA+ people living in the province. The Transfeminist Group is reserved for cis and trans* women. The Men's Consciousness-Raising Group is meant for men.
